The MindShift Academy – Day Programs for Young Adults with Disabilities
The MindShift Academy is a structured day program in Etobicoke, Ontario, passport funded approved, for young adults ages 18+ with developmental disabilities, dual diagnoses, and diverse abilities. We support individuals who are transitioning into adult life and learning how to participate in their community with guidance, structure, and purpose.
Our programs go beyond supervision. Members receive real instruction, consistent support, and hands-on opportunities to practice life skills in everyday settings. We help young adults develop the skills they need to share space, make informed choices, and take on greater responsibility in their daily lives.

OUR VISION
At The MindShift Academy, founders Oana Curelaru and Maria Iarossi have created more than just a program, it's an inclusive clubhouse designed specifically for neurodiverse young adults transitioning from high school. Here, members aged 16+ build essential life skills, explore career paths, and form genuine friendships. It’s a place to grow, to belong, and to be part of something truly extraordinary.

At The MindShift Academy, we’re dedicated to fostering independence, skill development, and meaningful connections for young adults with diverse abilities. Through individualized programs, we support each participant’s social, personal, and vocational growth, helping them build confidence and the skills needed for a fulfilling and successful life. Whether through our Life Ready program, cooking lessons, or customized learning experiences, we’re committed to empowering every member to achieve autonomy, pursue employment, and become active, valued members of their community.

COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
At The MindShift Academy, we are deeply committed to providing high-quality, person-centered supports for adults with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses.
We are currently in the process of achieving 100% compliance with Ontario’s Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) under the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act.
While we are not there just yet, we are proud of the significant progress we've made and remain fully dedicated to meeting and exceeding the standards set by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS).
Our team continues to refine our practices, ensure accountability, and uphold the rights and dignity of every individual we support.
